As Chairperson I am proud to say I am a member of Edenderry AC Seniors. We are three years in building a fantastic group of joggers and runners, and we are still growing. Everyone is more aware of their health and fitness and want to take an extra step forward all the time. 90% of the people that try running really are surprised when they try it, and that’s when the love of running begins. One of my favourite parts of being Chairperson is standing back and watching new and old members abilities grow in front of you. From couch to 5k to a 10k race and see delight on their face crossing the finish line, and most recently training with 13 members to take on Dublin City Marathon.

Running is not easy but its fun, being part of a club is key to success. You make new friends, you find what we call running buddies, you let off steam, you clear your head and go home totally refreshed. Joining Edenderry AC was one of the best steps I made, I have a whole new group of friends which even if I cant come to training I can meet them and still run.

At Edenderry AC we support each other regardless of ability, whether you are a jogger or a runner you will never be on your own that we promise. So if your looking for something new to try, come on down and introduce yourself you wont be sorry.

Edenderry AC Seniors was established in 2013, but the juveniles have been going since 1975. What started as a small group of like minded individuals interested in running has grown into a strong group of friends and athletes competing in events around the county and beyond.

2016 saw the club move to Derry Rovers FC Athletics track, the first ever athletics track in Edenderry, which gives us a secure home base to focus our training and make sure we get the very best out of our athletes.

The club is open to all members of the public, whether you want to get fit for fun or want to improve your race times and performance with the help of some dedicated training.

We meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 19:00 to 20:00 at Brians Park and on a Sunday morning at 09:30

Training on a Monday evening is taken by  Pauline Curley and her invaluable expert advice has helped many of us improve times and secure medals!
